St. Thomas University played host to the first ever HoopMIA Unsigned Senior Showcase which featured 60 of South Florida’s unsigned seniors competing against each other with over 15 college coaches in attendance watching. While the entire showcase was filled with recruitable athlete’s here are the prospects that stood out the most to our staff:

Latravian Glover (6’8/PF/2017):  Glover who was recently released from Oklahoma State showed up to impress college coaches with his emphatic play.  The Power Forward who can score consistently from 16-feet in also has to ability to hit perimeter shots when counted on.  Latravian has playmaker ability and loves to play above the rim.  Glover is a mid-major prospect looking for the right fit.

Kelvin Morley Jr.  (6’7/WF/2017): Kelvin Morley was arguably the biggest standout from the showcase.  The WF who can play and defend multiple positions was putting on a clinic, scoring in bunches, playing above the rim and demonstrated a high basketball I.Q.  Kelvin can score from all three levels, loves to play aggressively, and has humbled himself tremendously over the course of his senior year at Coral Gables High School. Morley plans on taking his talent to a JUCO that will be most beneficial for long-term career.

McCleon Charles (6'5/G/2017):  McCleon, the biggest surprise of the showcased straight up balled.  No one could stay in front of Charles defensively.  The 6’5 guard was great in open floor; McCleon has good game, body and ball control.  McCleon can score from all three levels consistently, plays aggressive defense and looks to make the extra pass. Charles has the ability to play both the 2 & 3 and has great basketball I.Q.   Coaches in need of a guard/wing hybrid need to reach out to McCleon Charles asap.

Sean Jeameau (6’6/F/2017): Jameau is a 6’6 combo forward (big-man) who played above the rim. Jameau may not have been the best athlete at camp but he was clearly among the best athletes. What he lacked in pure athleticism Jameau made up for it with high energy and intensity. Jameau was among the best players on Saturday.

Shawn Chandler (5’11/PG/2016): Shawn Chandler the Miami Dade transfer guard was looking especially bouncy, making clutch plays defensively which led to transition baskets on the other end. Chandler has a few suitors for his services coming in as a sophomore next season. This kid has a lot of potential both on and off the court.

STOCK BOOSTERS:

Brandon Kostky/Sean Kostky (6'2/SG/2017) :  The guards from Mariner HS can straight up shoot.  Both the Kostky brothers displayed their ability to shoot consistently from 16-feet out.  Both guards are effective perimeter shooters with silky strokes and high I.Q.’s.

Edmond Lara (6’3/G/2016):  Lara seemed very comfortable in his own skin, he was getting to the rim at ease, finishing though contact and making plays for others.  He is a post grad player looking for a new spot with hopes of finding a  JUCO program that will let him play confidently and freely.

Drake Tisdale (6’7/F/2016): Tisdale has had some trials and tribulations over the last few years but has gotten his act together and is looking for a junior college to take a chance on him. Tisdale at 6’7 has major upside if he could take care of life off the court.

Sebastian Baez (6'4/SG/2017):  Baez who showed up late to the Unsigned Senior Showcase was impressive during the game play portion of the showcase. Baez is transitioning from a post player in high school to a wing player in college. Baez has great feel and touch around the basket and is especially hard to guard because he is a lefty.
