Top Prospects 2023 & 2024

Scotty Middleton 6’6 2023 (The L.A.B.)- The rising sophomore was one of the top players at the event. He played in the 2022 division along with several other talented 2023 and 2024 prospects that were part of The L.A.B.’s roster. Middleton was a lead ball handler for the group and was able to find teammates for easy baskets throughout the weekend. He has improved his skill set tremendously in the past year and has become a more consistent shooter from distance and is a very versatile player. Middleton is able to be a scorer, facilitator, and shooter while guarding the opponents best player. With still three years remaining in his prep career it will be intriguing to see how Middleton will continue to elevate his game and see what heights he will reach.

Malik Abdullahi 6’5 2024 (Miami Hoop School/Columbus HS)- The incoming freshman was extremely impressive this weekend while playing up with the 2023 group. Abdullahi finished with 22 points in the championship game to lead his team to the win. He was a consistent shot blocker and presence on the defensive end throughout the event. Offensively, Malik was great around the basket and finished above the rim several times. He is an intriguing prospect that with continued growth and the development of his perimeter game has the chance to be a special player.

Marcus Allen 6’6 2024 (The L.A.B./Miami Norland)- Allen has been a standout in every event we have seen him at this summer. He was playing two divisions up with the 2022 group and was able to display why he may be the top 2024 prospect in Miami. Allen is a great playmaker for a prospect at his age and size and is unstoppable going to the rim. He is able to defend multiple positions due to his size, effort level and athleticism. Incoming freshmen do not usually have the amount of maturity Allen has in his game. He plays with great poise and will be an impact player for the Vikings from the beginning of his career.

Cole McCabe 6’6 2023 (SOH Elite)- The young big man is an intriguing prospect. He is very skilled for a player his size and has the ability to stretch the floor. He is a solid rebounder and shot blocker and as he continues to add strength and size he should continue to emerge as a force on the defensive end. He was solid throughout the weekend for SOH and is one of the top young bigs in South Florida.

Daniel Fernandez 5’10 2023 (Miami Hoop School/Westminster Christian)- Fernandez led Belen Jesuit in scoring as a freshman with nearly 15 points per game and will be a big addition for the Westminster Christian Warriors. He was fantastic for Miami Hoop School throughout the weekend. He is an ultra competitor that plays with tremendous effort. He is a knockdown shooter and an effective ball handler that is able to get to all the spots on the floor. He was the leader on the court for a Miami Hoop School group that was impressive throughout the tournament. He plays the game like a senior guard should by taking charges, leading with communication, and knocking down big shots.

Angelo Miranda 6’3 2024 (Miami Hoop School/Columbus HS)- Miranda is another talented young prospect that will be attending Christopher Columbus. He is a versatile wing that is converting from being strictly an interior player in his previous years. He has become comfortable at taking defenders off the bounce and attacking the basket. Miranda is an impressive defender that takes on the challenge of guarding the opponent’s top player. As his perimeter skills continue to improve so will his stock as a talented young prospect. He should be an immediate contributor on the varsity level for the Explorers.

Christian Reid 6’3 2024 (The L.A.B.)- Reid was another impressive young prospect from The L.A.B. in the event. Reid is the younger brother of former Krop standout and current Eastern Florida freshman Justin Reid. He plays the game with great energy and displays a lot of skill for a young player with his athleticism and strength. Reid is a prospect that is a must follow entering his high school career and as his skill set continues to ascend so will his production and stock.
