We will be featuring three 2020 South Florida prospects on a weekly basis. This is the second article profiling underrated college prospects in the area.

Steven Hernandez 5’11 Guard, Keys Gate Charter

Hernandez transferred to Keys Gate for his senior season after spending his previous years at Marathon High School. He has already surpassed 1000 points for his high school career. Hernandez can flat out score and is a deadly outside shooter. He has been very efficient in Keys Gate’s motion offense and is a consistent 20 point scorer. The senior has improved his ball handling and looks great in the pick and roll. He is a prospect that programs in need of shooting should be aware of.

Nathan Montaque 6’5 Wing, Somerset Academy Pembroke Pines

Montaque is off to a monster start to his senior season. The talented wing is averaging 26.5 points per game and set a school record with a 51 point performance early in the season. He is a three level scorer and is a great outside threat for a prospect with his size. Montaque can fit a variety of college systems due to his versatility. He can guard multiple positions and be used as a big perimeter player or as a stretch four. Look for Montaque to draw significant interest if he maintains his stellar play throughout his senior season.

Andrew Lopez 6’0 Point Guard, Miami Coral Park

Lopez transferred to Miami Coral Park from Florida Christian in the offseason and has teamed up with Ga’Khari Lacount to form one of the top backcourt tandems in South Florida. The senior is a pure point guard with the ability to fill up a box score with points, assists, rebounds, and steals. He is a strong on ball defender and uses his strength and IQ to guard multiple positions. The lefty guard is an unselfish competitor and is ready to run a college level offense. He is sure to garner college attention as the Rams are off to a solid start to their season and face a marquee schedule.
