Day 2 of the HoopMIA x JOB "The Warm-Up" was a great day of basketball. To see for yourself you can check out all of this weekends action on ballertv.com. The cliff notes are that a talented Cavalier Elite team defeated Ram Nation in the championship. The event featured a ton of talent from all over South Florida. Below are the  players who stood out on just Sunday.  Later on this week our staff will be putting out some event superlatives, predictions and evaluations of each teams prospects from over the weekend.

Top Performers:

Kuran Bryant(6'4/F/2022) Cavalier Elite

Kuran Bryant was a MAN amongst boys championship Sunday when Cavalier Elite took home the championship at " The Warm Up".  Bryant is a player who fills a number of roles for his team. Bryant gave the Cavalier Elite team the perfect blend of toughness/athleticism and skill this weekend to win a championship finishing with 26 points. If Bryant can develop more aspects of his game throughout the year things could get scary for opponents come February.

Jimel Lane(6'6/W/2022) Cavalier Elite

Jimel Lane may have made the biggest impression with our HoopMIA staff over the weekend. We knew Lane was good, but his ability to be a multi level scorer was incredibly impressive. Lane had multi effortless double figure performances leading Cavalier Elite to a championship on Sunday afternoon against an extremely well coached and talented Ram Nation team. Lane is a MUST SEE 2022 prospect coaches.

Desmond Romer(6'1/PG/2021) Cavalier Elite

Desmond Romer is not as talked about his before mentioned teammates but he  shoots it better than both of them. Romer consistently made shots and plays for his teammates throughout the event against high level competition finishing the championship with 15 points. Romer is a perfectly compatible with the Cavalier Elite style of play and should be a 2021 prospect for coaches to know about.

Ga'Khari Laccount(6'0/PG/2020) Ram Nation

First and foremost Laccount may have led the event in scoring finishing with three 30+ point performances.  The Lynn University commit displayed a noticeably stronger frame and was consistently scoring through contact all weekend. Laccount displayed supreme confidence from the perimeter and now apparently excels at maneuvering through traps and finishing around the basket. Needless to say at this point but Lynn University is getting one of the BEST players in South Florida.

Ryan & Matt Bewly(6'8/F/2023) FL Hurricane

The highly touted Bewly twins were impressive on Sunday winning a game at the buzzer. The Bewly's and a new look FL Hurricane team have a lot of talent but no one quite as unique as the twins. For being so young the Bewlys play like juniors and seniors. Both brothers are already so athletic and can score at all three levels , the sky is literally the limit for these two youngsters.

Tyreke Francois(5'11/PG/2020) FL Hurricane

Francois was HUGE at the end of Sunday's game hitting a step back three pointer as time expired to defeat a grity FL Explorers team. The lefty point guard played with a lot of poise down the stretch and was also one of the catalysts defensively to get the Hurricanes out of a big hole early. Francois is one of the many talented pieces that the Hurricanes boast but Sunday he hit the most clutch shot of the day.

Greg Gordan(6'5/W/2020) FL Colts

Gordan the athletic combo forward displayed so much grit on championship Sunday leading the FL Colts to the playoffs after suffering what appeared to be a weekend ending ankle injury Saturday afternoon. Gordan a strong framed athlete showed off great ball skills in transition making plays for himself and teammates. Gordan had a 30+ point performance with a number of  authoritative finishes at the rim Sunday. Overall there are not many players in SFL that played with the toughness, athleticism and versatility that Gordan demonstrated throughout.

Nick Jaques Louis(6'4/G/2020)Cobra Elite

Jaques who was recently offered by Stetson made a number of BIG shots down the stretch for Cobra Elite. Louis is showing off a more polished offensive arsenal and confidence to take and make tough shots. Louis was automatic down the stretch from the FT line including sinking 6 straight to ice the game.

Arturo Dean(5'11/PG/2021) Cobra Elite

Dean who also boats a Stetson offer is about as shifty a player as there is. Dean showed off his usual passion and edge in a tough fought win two point win versus The Pack. Dean played with a relentless motor constantly pushing the ball in transition. Dean got all the way to the rim to make plays for himself or teammates nearly at will. Defensively Dean was a pest and made a number of big plays to help propel Cobra Elite to a Sunday win.

Jimel Cofer Jr.(6'4/PG/2021) The Pack

Jimel Cofer Jr. is a freak of nature. The lefty guard may have the best combination of ball skills and athleticism in South Florida. Cofer is a ball hawk defensively and athletic enough to guard multiple positions. Over the weekend he made some breath taking plays at the rim as an offensive player and a defensive player. Cofer excels at finishing around the rim and making plays for teammates. Although Cofer is new to the area he is already being considered one of the most dynamic players in the state.

Jayven Cofer(6'1/PG/2023) The Pack

Jayven Cofer may be a freshman, but he sure doesn't look like one. The young lefty guard boasts a college ready frame and has a unique understanding of how to change speeds and finish through contact in the paint over, through and around defenders. Cofer was HUGE down the stretch for the Pack making 3 three pointers in the last few minutes of the game including what appeared to be an impossible shot falling out of bounds to tie the game with handful of seconds remaining. Despite falling short to Cobra Elite in the end Cofer proved he is one of best 2023's in the state of Florida.

Anthony Lopez Jr.(6'4/G/2020) The Pack

Lopez Jr.  displayed his athleticism attacking the rim and made a number of big shots on Sunday. Lopez scored from all three levels and finished at the basket above the rim in transition consistently. Lopez is a must see 2020 for all division one coaches looking for a true combo guard with size.

Jonathan Renois(5'11/PG/2021) FTL Panthers

What he likes in height he makes up for in explosiveness. Renois showed flashes of becoming a very good "end of shot clock" type of guard. He easily finds shot for himself off the bounce and can make tough shots from the perimeter.

Ben Middlebrooks(6'10/PF/2021) FTL Lions

Middlebrooks was easily one of the prospects at "The Warm-Up". The super skilled big man who was recently offered by the University of Florida made shots from three point range and demonstrated a soft touch around the rim. Middlebrooks is every inch of 6'10 and has a college ready frame. As a staff at HoopMIA we can confidently say  Middlebrooks will be heavily recruited from now until he finishes high school.

Stock Booster:

Jeffery Bujan(6'1/CG/2020) FL Firebirds

Bujan who just recently began his tenure with the Firebirds demonstrated he has one of the purest strokes in SFL. Bujan has no overwhelming physical attributes but changes speeds well with the basketball and can make shots off the bounce. Bujan showed his ability to make plays for others as well proving he get hot in a hurry and should only continue to improve as he gets immersed in the culture.

Andy Lopez(5'10/PG/2020)RAM Nation

Lopez is a  strong shifty guard that can really handle the basketball. Lopez isn't going to make a bunch of combination moves but has a very quick first step which he used to finish at the rim Sunday. Lopez is an exceptional on ball defender and made all sorts of intangible and winning plays enabling Ram Nation to get to "The WarmUp" Championship.
